Ohio RSOL holds events online using Zoom.

Ohio RSOL CARES
Community, Advocacy, ResourcesEducation, Support

Ohio RSOL limits community event invitations and participation to Ohio RSOL donors and members. This gatekeeping is necessary to ensure the safety and security of our community who are impacted by the registry, their families, support folks, and allies.

Most of our events are on-line using Zoom. Participants do not need a Zoom account. You only need to have the Zoom application on your phone, computer, or tablet. Using the Zoom application without an account means you don’t have an internet identifier to register.

Types of Events

Town Hall-
Town Hall are our most often recurring event. These are times the community comes together for training or topical discussion. Past topics include:
– Finding Employment and Interviewing
– Advocacy- What is and putting it into action
– Navigating domestic travel as an impacted citizen
– I Testified and Survived- A panel of registrants and allies discuss their experiences testifying before Ohio Statehouse committees.

Town Hall Open Forum-
An open forum is a time for the community to come together to be inspired and encouraged through shared stories. Often, registry impacted citizens feel like they are the only ones going through their experiences. This isn’t a time to rant or preach to the choir. We share ideas on overcoming the hurdles put on us being registrants or family members. We also celebrate the perseverance and fortitude of those impacted by the registry.

Ohio RSOL Board & Executive Team Meetings-
It is vitally important for community members to be involved in the operational success of Ohio RSOL. There’s no better place to get your feet wet than at a board or executive meeting. Here is where the business of registry abolishment advocacy takes place. They are structured by Roberts Rules of Order but are extremely informative.
